93% Efficiency Rate

The Finance and Accountability Committee reports that the Efficiency Rate for the first three months of the year 2010 was 93%.  That means that of every dollar spent by our organization, 0.93 cents of every dollar were spent directly on infrastructure projects in Latin America.

 

 

Coatepeque Park inaugurated in El Salvador!


SAN SALVADOR. March 22 - Thursday March 11th was a special day for the community of Potrerillos de La Laguna and the volunteers of the Inter-American Development Fund. After months of preparation, Parque Coatepeque, was finally inaugurated.  Now all of the kids of this 150-family rural community have a fun and safe place to play.

The playground was built in three days in a cooperative effort between volunteers and members of the community who brought shovels, pick axes, and grape hoes.

IADF about to inaugurate its first project in El Salvador

SAN SALVADOR. 10 Feb. - The countdown to El Salvador has started! The dream of building a playground and park in Coatepeque will become a reality in the first days of March. Eagerly awaited by the local community, this sports and recreation area is going to be built next to the future health unit and computer lab building, just 30 meters from the local school and community soccer field, all within an area of 120 square meters in the heart of the community.

Thousands of Hits

WASHINGTON DC, USA. Sept. 27 – According to preliminary reports, the number of visitors to our webpage doubled since the launch of our new site approximately one month ago.  The report showed that in just the month of September 70,000 people accessed the site of the Inter-American Development Fund.

Making a Difference at the Folk Festival in East Lansing, Michigan

MICHIGAN, USA. Aug. 20 –  Before classes even started for the 2009-2010 school year, the Latinos on the Move chapter at Michigan State University participated in the Great Lakes Folk Festival in downtown East Lansing, Michigan on the weekend of August 8-9, 2009.  Latinos on the Move partnered with the Michigan Traditional Arts Program at the MSU Museum and worked in the fiesta tent to help with traditional Latino/a crafts and games for children.

Mission Accomplished

COCHABAMBA, Bolivia.  Jun. 01 – The Inter-American Development Fund and the Club Aurora Foundation inaugurated the first beach soccer pitch in Bolivia with much satisfaction this last weekend.  With the participation of hundreds of kids and their families, this new sports ground started to gain life through numerous beach soccer and beach volleyball matches.
