Clinic in Bolivia Breaks Ground!
On July 14th 2010 the construction of IADF´s most recent selected project in Bolivia began. A Clinic in Manuela Gandarillas Center for blind children that will be completed in about five months. The center and the children that reside there will be able to enjoy an appropriate facility for medical attention such as dentistry, optometry. After the essential donations were handed over (bricks and cement) we were able to finally commence construction, assigning Marco Aguila as our oficial arquitect and formalizing a contract with him as well. Mr. Aguila is now the lead arquitect for the project and will be supervising construction. FID, our sister organization in Bolivia, as well as Tele-C (Channel 21) in Cochabamba, Bolivia have agreed to collaborate together in a series of events and fundraising campaigns to raise more capital and reach the reamining budget goal. During the Televised campaign, both organizations will also try to acquire medical equipment through donations for the clinic. Members of the Inter-American Development Fund have been and will continue to carry out a number of fundraising events to complete this Project. Thanks to IADF´s efforts, FID was able to pay off the initial 30% to start construction. IADF and FID have now taken a great step towards yet another infrastructural project that will benefit an entire community and all members will continue to work hard to uphold the mission of IADF in Latin America.
