About the Committees of the Inter-American Development Fund
 

The Inter-American Development Fund counts with the following committees, each with specific functions that guarantee an orchestrated and balanced work between the Associate Members and the Board of Directors. The constituted committees are:

     
 
 
Administrative Committee
The Administrative Committee is made up by Administrative Associates, Founding Associates, Golden Associates, and Platinum Association. The Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary General are also part of the Administrative Committee. The functions of the Administrative Committee are:
 
  1. Hire the Chief Executive Officer as indicated by the Internal Bylaws.
  2. Once every five years draft the Five Year Plan of the Fund with goals and targets about the number of associates, staff increases, salaries, amount of projects to be financed and constructed, state of accounts, modifications to the patrimony, donations, and volunteers.
  3. Elect a President and Vice-President for the Inter-American Council to represent all associates, welcome new associates, inform associates about their respective contributions and other responsibilities as stated by the Internal Bylaws.
  4. Vote in favor or against contracts and agreements produced by the Chief Executive Officer.
  5. Ultimately choose the name of the projects of the Fund after evaluating all suggestions on table.<<Return>>
 
Recruiting and Appraisal Committee
The Administrative Committee is made up by Administrative Associates and Founding Associates. The Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary General are also part of the Recruiting and Appraisal Committee. The functions of the Recruiting and Appraisal Committee are:
 
  1. Receive and evaluate new associate applications.
  2. Analyze the benefits and limitations of proposed associates.
  3. Advice acceptation or rejection of proposed associates.<<Return>>
 
Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee is made up by all the associates of the Fund. The Chief Executive Officer, the Secretary General, and the Fundraising Director are also part of the Fundraising Committee. The functions of the Fundraising Committee are:
 
  1. Plan activities and social events to raise capital and finance the projects of the Fund.<<Return>>
 
Financial and Accountability Committee
The Financial and Accountability Committee is made up by Administrative Associates and Founding Associates. The Chief Executive Officer, the Secretary General, and the Chief Financial Officer are also part of the Financial and Accountability Committee. The functions of the Financial and Accountability Committee are :
 
  1. Elaborate the Annual Budget of the Fund consistent with the Five Year Plan every year.
  2. Control the annual balance of the Fund.
  3. Collect the contribution corresponding to every associate member and transmit them to the Chief Financial Officer.
  4. Report any and all delays in contributions to the Ethics and Values Committee.
  5. Annually report the inventory of all the goods and holdings of the Fund .<<Return>>
 
Project Development Committee
The Project Development Committee is made up by all the associates of the Fund. The Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary General are also part of the Project Development Committee. The functions of the Project Development Committee are:
 
  1. Participate in the planning of the projects to be undertaken by the Fund.
  2. Approve bids and propositions about the projects to be completed.
  3. Visit and oversee ongoing projects of the Fund. <<Return>>
 
Ethics and Values Committee
The Ethics and Values Committee is made up by Administrative Associates, Founding Associates, and Honorary Associates. The Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary General are also part of the Ethics and Values Committee. The functions of the Ethics and Values Committee are:
 
  1. Evaluate all ethical inquiries submitted to the Committee.
  2. Remove associates from committees without this implicating the loss of their association.
  3. Determine the penalty, suspension, or expulsion of associates of the Fund.
  4. Visit and oversee projects and edifices completed by the Fund to evaluate their functioning. <<Return>>
 
Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee is made up by Administrative Associates and Founding Associates. The Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary General are also part of the Legislative Committee. The functions of the Legislative Committee are:
 
  1. Receive and analyze proposals for modification of the Constitution and Internal Bylaws.
  2. Recommend approval or rejection of modifications to the Internal Bylaws by a vote of two thirds of the Committee members, and then pass it the Administrative Committee for ratification.
  3. Recommend amendments of the Constitution to be voted by the General Assembly. <<Return>>
